Airmax Lebron 7 (VII) - More than a Game PDF Print E-mail

The MVP's "More than a Game" Shoes

Lebron James, the current National Basketball Association's Most Valuable Player has released his new shoe, the Airmax Lebron VII, coinciding with his "More Than a Game" film.

This is perhaps the shoe with the most variety among the numbered Lebron series, because the 10 Airmax Lebron VII varieties represent the ten cities in America, Europe and Asia that were part of the "More than a Game" World Tour.

For example, the community themed green and white colored Washington DC variety represents James' youth. The shoe even has a picture of James' SVSM team in a huddle. The "China Moon" variety, on the other hand, is a white and gold ensemble which is inspired by China's Moon Festival. The New York Artist Series, which is specifically designed by renowned artist Tomokazu Matsuyama, epitomizes simplicity and style. To the untrained eye, it's like a blank white canvas replete with over 700 Swarovsky crystals, but a closer look will reveal the contemporary design that best embodies Lebron James.

Of course, the leader of the pack is the Piano AML7. Its black, white and red colors are reminiscent to Air Jordan 11. James used this during the first few games of the 2009-2010 NBA Season. Most of these varieties feature flywire technology (except for one variety) and the Nike signature air-sole. The fly-wire upper material is designed to make the shoe lighter. This helps the wearer to feel the comfort without the drag of most rubber shoes.

The Airmax Lebron VII is the current MVP's sneakers. After this season, we will know if this will be the same sneakers he will wear when he finally gets his championship ring.

LeBron James VI - Comfort Over Style PDF Print E-mail

Comfort Over Style

For a player whose athleticism is just but one weapon in his arsenal, a comfortable yet light-weight shoe is essential. With this in mind, designers in Nike have come up with Lebron James VI.

The past Lebrons, as what they call the LBJ shoes collection, was more on the bigger and heavier side. And weekend warriors just could not bare additional weight on their feet. After all, they are not the six-foot-eight 260-pound forward who can dunk virtually from any angle of the playing court. Even Lebron James himself took notice of the fact that consumers think of buying basketball shoes more for off-court than using them in an actual basketball game. So the designers looked back on the first one, the Air Zoom Generations which has an off-court friendly design, and created Lebron James VI.

The shoe does not compromise comfort and performance, yet it has found a way to keep it as light as possible. It's like fusing Air Zoom Generations and Lebron Air Force 1. Cushioning is one of the factors taken into consideration, with the Zoom Air taking much of the pressure off the feet. Its fit sleeve, on the other hand, makes sure that the shoe is comfortable enough to wear while not constricting your foot.

The Lebron James VI is arguably the simplest and least adorned Lebron shoe since perhaps the Air Zoom Generation. But don't get fooled by its rather simple design for it can really pack a punch when it is intended for its original purpose - as basketball shoes.

Zoom LeBron 5 (V) Shoes - Phyposite endoskeleton Structure PDF Print E-mail

If you think that the  Zoom Lebron V is just a flashy footwear, then you better think again. It actually has a few tricks up its sleeves.

A major retool from its predecessor, the Zoom Lebron V is equipped with a Phyposite endoskeleton structure. Nike has a knack for using technologically advanced and durable materials for their footwear and this is no different.

Phyposite is actually a combination of Phylon (more commonly known as EVA foam) and Foamposite (or liquid polyurethane). The result of this composition is a lightweight, flexible and durable material that can support your body weight, especially during abrupt movement. The phyposite bucket, which is also incorporated in the shoe acts like a vise grip that locks your foot in. And once you fasten the strap, you foot will lock into place no matter how sudden your movements are - the shoe will react with your movement.

This lockdown fit may be uncomfortable to some especially during the first few times they wear the  Zoom Lebron V, but eventually, they'll get used to it. The high-cut design was utilized to get the maximum ankle support so that even when the wearer lands off-balanced after taking off, there only is a small chance that he'll suffer from sprain.

Overall, this piece of sports equipment takes the game of the wearer to a whole new level: a sharp cut to the basket would not be a problem as the traction in the sole will make sure that the player twist and turn easily.

LeBron Soldier III 3 - Rebel in the LBJ Collection PDF Print E-mail

The Rebel in the LBJ Collection

Lebron James steps up his game come playoff time. And this is what inspired the Lebron Soldier III.

Of all the secondary designs in the Lebron James signature collection, this model is perhaps the most popular of them all. Why not? James' aggressive style of play on both ends of the floor has left his opponents with much awe. And every time he plays, especially during the playoffs, he brings his A-game.

With all these in mind, the designers of the Lebron Soldier III created a basketball shoe whose sole is closer to the ground, making it extremely responsive. It is also one of the lightest in the long list of designs made by Nike. This was made possible through the light mesh upper, which is incorporated in the design for breathability.

The most notable feature of this shoe is the two synthetic leather straps above the mid-foot top. This provides a lockdown fit, aside from adding a stylish look. As always, Nike has utilized their Zoom Air units for the mid-sole to enhance cushioning while the unconventional solid rubber outsole replete with flex grooves provides outstanding traction and flexibility that can keep up with the feet's natural motion. As always, an image of a lion is embossed on the back of the tongue, yet another one of Lebron's trademark.

Just like the previous models from the collection, the Lebron Soldier III symbolizes the player and the man on and off court. James' toughness, power and passion stand out, and these are what this shoe stands for.
